Turtles sometimes swim into nets but sometimes they escape from the nets.

The green sea turtle is an endangered species. Ther numbers have decreased in the past 50 years. Their meat and eggs are highly prised and eaten in some countries; they can drown when they get caught in fishing nets or die after eating rubbish like plastic bags that they see as jelly fish. Their numbers also decreased by boat propeller accidents, fishnet-caused drowning and the destruction of ther nesting grounds by human encroachment.

Worldwide six of seven sea turtle species are classified as endangered due to the human lifestyle.

The biggest threats include:

.poaching and illegal trade off eggs meat and shells

.global warming

.ocean pollution

.plastic bags and rubbish.
